This year, Scorpion helped support Torrance Memorial Medical Center as they rode in the American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure. This annual event—held in a series of cycling events which spans 44 states—is done to help support the American Diabetes Association and their mission: "to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes." It is not a race; rather, it provides routes that can be completed by everyone—from someone who occasionally throws a leg over a bike to seasoned racers. In 2011 alone, the Tour de Cure had more than 55,000 participants in more than 80 events across the nation and raised more than $18 million.
A long-time partner of Torrance Memorial, Scorpion was proud to donate to support the cause. In fact, Scorpion donated more than 50% of Torrance Memorials' total goal—helping them to not only reach it, but surpass it. Through efforts such as these, Scorpion, through their charitable Scorpion Cares branch, is proud to help support our partners, as well as good causes.
