Brand Strategist

We are looking for a driven, analytical, strategic, creative and results-oriented Brand Strategist. 

What You'll Do
As the advocate for and an expert of the consumer, this role is responsible for developing key branding strategies based on consumer insights, client, product, and service attributes and competitive vulnerabilities that drive to a specific brand position. You should be able to create strategies that differentiate the brand from its competitors and empower it to be adopted by the consumer. We are looking for an expert in using, designing, analyzing and interpreting various research methodologies -- secondary and primary, qualitative and quantitative -- to discover key consumer insights and profiling to drive brand strategy and inform the marketing strategy. This role guides the research team in their approach in addressing a particular initiative requiring their support and involvement. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter and clear communicator who has a leadership mentality. You must be confident, responsible, detail oriented and strategic. As the representative of our company to clients, you must be personable, solution-minded, polished and results-oriented. The Brand Strategist should be viewed as a thought leader and have the ability to create big wins for our clients. You must have the ability to think big picture while building road-maps to execute in a fast-paced environment. 

Responsibilities of the Brand Strategist Include:

  • Conduct brainstorming sessions with internal teams, maintaining strategic and creative thinking to develop innovative and actionable initiatives in a fiscally responsible manner.
  • Create and conduct stakeholder interviews with clients.
  • Interact, uncover, and present to clients.
  • Present, or oversee the presentation of final strategic concepts, and obtain approvals for deliverables.
  • Lead and/or participate in client work sessions.
  • Help with the sales process, scope of work, and proposals.
  • Responsible for the mentoring and development of junior talent.
  • Develop a brand strategy, brand positioning, and brand architecture pieces.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Director, Marketing Strategist and other key team members in developing brand strategy and brand visual identity for clients, reviewing research and analyzing results, and identifying creative opportunities.
  • Mine client’s business and marketing-related initiatives to determine a branding strategy, as well as identify and execute research to develop clear consumer personas.  Through this process demonstrate your expertise in clarifying the client’s brand and applying it to its marketing efforts to generate awareness, sentiment, and engagement. 
  • Develop robust strategies via a disciplined brand planning process that guides the rest of your team to brainstorm ideas and execute against.  
  • Create and defend compelling, fact-based stories.

What You'll Need:

  • 4+ years of strategy experience within an agency.
  • A solid background in data-driven strategy.
  • A proven record in developing strategic plans that benefit the client.
  • The ability to work on a number of projects and balance your workload.
  • Highly collaborative, team player that is flexible and fast on their feet.
  • The drive to thrive in both independent and collaborative work environments.
  • Possess a strong understanding of analytics, branding framework and the media landscape.
  • Must be able to use data to back up strategy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with executives and founders.
  • Track record of building strong brands.
  • Ability to develop, communicate and execute an overall strategic vision for clients.
  • Strong project management skills – ability to ensure deadlines and milestones are met by internal and external teams.
