Job Overview
As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining cloud infrastructure as well as working on high-level projects for Scorpion. You will need to have both the technical skills and experience working with Azure, Kubernetes, and VMware as well as strong verbal and written communication skills to support our internal teams and keep the business running, all while giving a “next level” work ethic.
You're super self-motivated, a great communicator, and able to thrive in a collaborative and sometimes high-pressure environment working closely with others. Additionally, this role will be a part of an on-call rotation and is required to be responsive during on-call hours, so some flexibility is needed as a Cloud Engineer.
What You'll Do
Responsibilities:
- Configure, monitor, and support existing cloud, physical, and virtual infrastructure
- Investigate production outages, determine root causes, and implement fixes with a sense of urgency
- Perform proactive analysis of bottlenecks and points of failure – plan and implement improvements to address discoveries
- Develop and maintain documentation for system and platform architecture
- Maintain a customer-focused service attitude and work ethic
- Bridge knowledge gap between development, devops, and infrastructure stack
- Be a responsive, helpful team member and uphold internal communication guidelines and timeframes to ensure that “next level” service
What You'll Need
Qualifications:
- Must have high aptitude and flexibility – ability to learn new technologies and shift priorities quickly
- 5+ years of experience working with Windows, VMware, and Linux operating systems (Ubuntu)
- Experience with Kubernetes and Docker
- Expert ability working with Azure technologies
- Experience with Backup Technologies and Disaster Recovery
- High degree of proficiency in verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in these technologies preferred: Powershell, Rancher, Azure Kubernetes Service, Elastic, VEEAM & SQL Server
