Job Overview

The Senior People Operations Business Partner will proactively partner with designated business units to ensure people strategies are aligned with business objectives. It is paramount that the Business Partner develop and sustain relationships with business leaders and People Operations Centers of Expertise (COEs) to deliver value-added services to business units. 

What You'll Do

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business leaders to develop organizational strategies and ensure organizational capability supports the business strategy, anticipating and preparing for future business needs
  • Ensure organizational alignment
  • Coach business leaders and advise on People Ops programs to promote a culture of engagement, trust, inclusivity, growth, and development in the business
  • Ensure the right balance of risk mitigation, engagement, and fairness
  • Gather industry best practices and trends for the purpose of developing workforce plans and to ensure strategic decision-making
  • Ensure business leaders operate from current workforce plans to include an employee lifecycle approach
  • Develop metrics and prepare strategic reports and recommendations from findings, intended for People Ops, business leaders, and Business Partner colleagues
  • Develop data analytics that identify talent gaps and assess organizational performance to propose solutions that are in support of business objectives
  • Ensure strategies are aligned with the overall business objectives, priorities, and values
  • Focus: forecasting, staffing, on-boarding, inclusion, performance management, goal-alignment, development, engagement, retention, succession planning, talent movement
  • Maintain an appropriate level of human resource management and employment law knowledge, along with the latest trends and best practices
  • Consult with external specialists as needed.
  • Work to understand industry and business factors that shape how People Ops strategies are developed
  • Serve as initial point-of-contact, transferring matters to respective People Ops COEs
  • Remain connected through resolution or ensure proper hand-off
  • Develop and implement People Ops Business Partner (BP) related programs, such as business unit consulting, BP onboarding, business leader onboarding to People Ops BP model, etc.
  • Oversee organization redesign requests, following established protocol
  • Consult with respective parties (e.g., People Ops COEs, business executives) to ensure cross-functional collaboration and best practice/proper implementation
  • Reference content on external channels (Glassdoor, Great Place to Work, Indeed, Comparably, etc.) to gain insight, report trends, and recommend solutions
  • Collaborate with respective parties (e.g., People Ops COEs, business leaders, Corp Communications)
  • Oversee large-scale change management, effectively. Performs other related duties as assigned

What You'll Need

Qualifications:

  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the company’s operation as well as the People Ops organization and programs
  • Effective customer service and communication skills (e.g., presentation, verbal, written, interpersonal)
  • Ability to convey information in a clear and concise manner, tailoring messages to ensure diverse audiences understand
  • Must be consumer-focused, flexible, receptive to feedback, open to change, and exceptional experience-oriented
  • Work effectively in group settings with the ability to remain professional and calm, despite pressure and uncertainty
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Must have the ability to work on multiple projects at once and meet tight deadlines without compromising integrity and quality
  • Ability to work independently, properly influence, and develop professional, trusting relationships with others
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Capable of leveraging metrics, drawing insights from data and information, which will enable informed decision making
  • Ability to think and operate strategically
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • 7+ years of related experience is required, preferably as a strategic Human Resources Business Partner within a large, high-growth organization
  • Experience with developing, promoting, and implementing HR-related programs and protocol, preferably within a start-up and/or fast-pace, high-growth organization
  • Experience working with change management principles, tools, and methodologies
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, such as compensation practices, organizational analysis, DIB (diversity, inclusion, belonging), performance management
  • Working knowledge of employment laws
  • Experience working within a Center of Expertise (COE) people operations structure is preferred
  • Current human resources certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP/CP, SPHR/PHR) is preferred
