Job Overview

Social media plays a critical role in developing brand relevance and resonance in an increasingly competitive landscape. The Social Media Strategist will set Scorpion up for the future through the development of a strategy with a focus on elevating the brand and driving demand for Scorpion’s products and services. 

Scorpion is looking for an experienced Social Media Strategist to handle Scorpion’s social media strategy and the management of our social platforms. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for you to support our VP of Corporate Communications in ensuring external interactions with Scorpion positively reflect our brand, our products, and our culture. 

As the Social Media Strategist, you’ll be responsible for upholding a positive, professional, and engaging public image for Scorpion while ensuring that our brand is portrayed consistently across the board. Your ultimate goal is to help create a positive buzz about Scorpion through engaging, creative communication.

As the Social Media Strategist, you must have experience in social media and a demonstrated ability to produce a wide range of media and other strategic external communications. Overall, we’re looking for someone who is eager to become a highly knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented extension of our business and our brand.

What You'll Do

Responsibilities:

  • Manage social excellence for all Scorpion branded accounts including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Glassdoor, G2, and more
  • Work with various department leaders to manage the social media campaign calendar
  • Develop best practices for organic programs, social pillars, metrics, reporting, monitoring, tools, and support programs
  • Work with VP Corporate Communications to develop and manage the social media budget for boosted campaigns and other necessary tools
  • Manage campaign planning, recommend appropriate social media channels and tactics that align with strategic plans and best practices for organic content
  • Appropriately brief content and creative teams as needed and project manage completion of all necessary assets for campaigns and day-to-day content
  • Manage scheduling and posting for all Scorpion social media accounts according to an editorial calendar
  • Implement an online listening strategy, coordinating responses to questions and feedback on all social media channels within 24 hours. Report social media issue escalation and implement crisis communication as directed via social media
  • Drive Scorpion’s social content curation strategy, including content to engage communities for each vertical
  • Identify key metrics and establish tracking and reporting mechanisms across all accounts. Work with VP Corporate Communications to deliver reports and strategic recommendations to leadership
  • Deliver reporting on overarching social media and community feedback and themes.
  • Make strategic recommendations based on data
  • Serve as Scorpion’s internal expert and advocate for strategic social media

What You'll Need

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in social media required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, or other related field required
  • Proven track record of developing successful social strategies and other employee engagement programs
  • Exceptional writing, production, and presentation skills to deliver creative, engaging & on-brand communications
  • Meticulous attention to detail 
  • Ability to stay on top of social media trends and tools
  • Familiarity with tools such as Sprout Social, Marketo, Live Social is a plus
  • Must be able to handle external communications activities, including sensitive issues, with finesse and professionalism
