People Relations Partner

Job Overview

Our rapidly expanding People Operations team is looking to add an amazing People Relations Partner. This position will play an important role in our department as Scorpion continues to scale at an unprecedented rate. This position will implement and administer policies and programs meant to foster positive relations between employees and the organization.

Having the experience, smarts, competencies, and a creative mindset go a long way for this role. We want a person who knows the art of handling conflict resolution and employee emotions. This role will handle employee distractions to keep our eye on the prize. Being skilled in this role will help keep and increase engagement and lower our attrition and turnover rates.


  • Assists in the development of programs meant to promote employee engagement and satisfaction within the organization and reduce turnover
  • Participates in employee relations related issues, which may include employee disciplinary action, conflict or grievance resolution, work-life balance, or our EAP programs
  • Ensures programs are administered fairly across the employee population
  • Participates in investigations into employee/employer misconduct
  • Conducts or moderates employee surveys, focus groups and exit interviews
  • Maintains, develops, recommends, and implements program objectives, policies, and procedures
  • Develops and pursues new goals and objectives for improvement in areas of employee relations
  • Communicates with employees regarding employee relations concerns; provides guidance and recommendations for resolution of issues
  • Counsels employees on concerns related to applicable Equal Employment Opportunity laws including Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and other similar federal and state laws
  • Assists managers and supervisors in understanding and implementing company policies related to performance, discipline, and related topics
  • Develops, presents, and administers departmental budget
  • Performs other related duties as assigned


  • 4+ years of experience
  • SHRM-CA (Preferred)
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter
  • Experience providing leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to other employees
  • Well versed in employment law and it’s application to employee relations and disability accommodations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of human resources and labor relations principles, practices, and procedures
  • Excellent management skills. Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with employees, boards, officials, directors, and other stakeholders
  • Working understanding of statistical concepts and methods of data collection
  • Ability to compile, research, and analyze information in a detail oriented manner
  • Ability to compose and present comprehensive reports
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors
  • Problem management, good judgment and Interpersonal skills
