In a March 27, 2020 post on Google’s official blog from Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai, Google has announced that they’ve pledged over $800 million towards COVID-19 crisis relief. This pledge will also provide funds to health organizations, health workers, academic organizations, and financial organizations. Google’s pledge is to respond to the difficulties placed on our communities due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The small- and medium-sized business (SMB) support comes in the form of $340 million in Google Ads credits, given to help SMBs through any challenges they are facing and help them keep in touch with their clients.

How do I know if I’m eligible to receive Google’s ad credits?
If you are an SMB who has had an active Google Ads account since January 1, 2019 and you comply with all Google Ads T&Cs, you are eligible to receive a credit from Google.
How long can I use this credit once I’ve received it?
Once it’s in your account, you can use this credit at any time throughout 2020.
How much will I get?
If your business is eligible for this relief from Google, you will receive one ad credit of up to $1,000. Factors that impact the amount include past Google Ads spend, the country of the business, the currency being used. (Information updated May 29, 2020.)
How will I know if I got a credit from Google?
Google has simply stated that active advertisers who are eligible will receive notifications in their Google Ads account within the coming months.
