Job Overview
Scorpion is looking for a Head of Business Intelligence to build out a new BI team that will support and work with leaders across the entire organization. In this role, you will be responsible for leading our new BI team and arming the company with data and helping answer big strategic questions.
What You'll Do
Responsibilities
- Build and oversee the Business Intelligence team including scoping out the needed team, responsibilities, processes, workflows, tech stack, etc.
- Hire and develop a team of BI analysts to support all business departments
- Work closely with our Data team to ensure data warehousing and preparation aligns with the needs of the business
- Democratize data, educate the org, and build up organizational skills and self sufficiency around data and analytics
- Work with business leaders to develop and maintain KPIs, metrics, reporting and dashboards that are trusted, clear, action oriented, and accessible
- Partner with business leaders to answer important questions, evaluate business performance, and make optimization recommendations
- Continuously improve and stay current in new BI technologies and platforms identifying emerging solutions, driving innovation and creative solutions to meet business challenges
- Make analytics & insight deliverables accessible, actionable, and memorable
What You'll Need
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree, Masters Degree Preferred
- 3-5 years’ experience in data and analytics focused roles (e.g. consulting, finance, Data & analytics or BI teams).
- Experience thinking about the business and not solely technical, academic, or research experience.
- Experience with team management and/or team project management.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, communication skills.
- Ability to build new processes and workflows at scale.
- Capable of translating analysis results into business recommendations. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
