About the Sr. Database Developer role at Scorpion:
As a Sr. Database Developer, you will design, construct, and maintain relational databases for data warehousing for the Scorpion Advertising Machine and Scorpion One product. The Scorpion One team will change and improve how Scorpion uses data to have the absolute best advertising campaigns on the market for our clients. This is a SQL Server role focused on writing complex stored procedures, functions, and views.
What You'll Do
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for final approvals for SQL deployments, strategies, and schemas
- Address SQL bottlenecks, performance improvements, query plan optimization
- Allow us to 10x our PPC Sync and PPC Metrics processes
- Will be working on Scorpion One, Pay-per-click Sync, and Pay-per-click metrics
- Develop data modeling
- Be responsible for data acquisition and access analysis and design
- Design and implement archive, recovery, and load strategies
- Determine server structural requirements by analyzing client or internal operations, applications, and programming
- Review business requests for data and data usage
- Research data sources for new and better data feeds
- Assist in continuous improvement efforts in enhancing performance and providing increased functionality
- Analyze on-premises database environments such as Oracle, SQL Server, or other Commercial DB Engines to Open Source Engines like Aurora PostgreSQL/MySQL or RedShift, DynamoDB
What You'll Need
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in SQL Server and more recent experience with SQL Server 2020
- Data warehousing experience - this will be helpful for cloud-scale resources in our Pay-per-click applications
- Strong skill set with SQL Server, T-SQL, and C#
- Experience working with high availability, disaster recovery, and server tuning strategies including parameters, resources, contention, etc
- Experience coordinating with C-Level leadership to craft their Database Architecture and IT Strategies
- Experience in AWS and/or Azure Platforms and Service
- Microsoft and/or Azure certifications a plus
