Job Overview

Being a VP of Vertical Growth isn't that different from being the founder/president of your own small startup. You're responsible for developing and growing Scorpion within our home services vertical. We need someone who is an expert in the home services industry and obsessed with understanding their customers, building Scorpion’s brand, and driving tangible results for the business.

To do this, you will be comfortable using a variety of tools. This role needs someone that is just as comfortable digging into an excel model as they are speaking to a thousand people at a conference. They’ll be just as happy figuring out where their target customers hang out online as they are hopping on sales calls. No two days are the same, which adds to the appeal and challenge of the job!

What You'll Do


  • Drive results for the business, focusing on MQLs, Appointments Set, and Inbound Sales
  • Be an absolute expert of the home services vertical: know everything there is to know about the customers (their hopes, dreams, and concerns), and who we’re competing against
  • Run an agile, experiment-focused process, focused on learning as much as possible and figuring out what works
  • Lead and be accountable for our strategy in your Home Services vertical
  • Expert at building relationships
  • Be able to communicate the Scorpion value proposition in an engaging way

What You'll Need

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or marketing is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Experience in fast-growth environments, ability to pivot and prioritize a must
  • Knowledge of Agile is a benefit
  • Credible and knowledgeable in the home service industry and in digital marketing
  • Strategic thinker able to distill what they learn and weigh in on home service specific decisions
  • Be able to work cross functionally
  • Driven, self-motivated and outcome oriented
  • Organized and process driven
  • Experience in Partnership, Sales, Business Development, and similar roles in the home service industry
