Job Overview
As the Director of Event Strategy, you will be responsible for devising and building the strategic plans for the events that Scorpion invests in. Your focus will be on driving engagement with event attendees prior to the event, during, and after with the goal of boosting lead generation all while upholding the integrity of the user’s experience with the Scorpion brand.
More specifically, you’ll be tasked with achieving specific KPIs for events through meticulous planning. In the short-term, you’ll build strategy templates based on the type of event and our level of investment. As the event strategy and approach evolves, you’ll be responsible for creating plan templates in a tiered approach as well as custom strategies, as needed.
To succeed in this role, you should be capable of building out plans with a level of detail that helps ensure we’re achieving a solid return. This individual contributor role is an exciting opportunity for someone with equal parts strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills as well as a doer who is excited to execute and help achieve amazing results on the Events team.

- Develop strategic templates for events/shows based on Scorpion’s investment and desired outcomes
- Determine event objectives in consultation with the VP of Events and/or other Corporate Marketing leaders
- Ensure every piece of the strategy needed to achieve a successful event is built out and functioning
- Define methods and processes for tracking campaign success to further iterate & optimize based on target goals
- Oversee lead generation, giveaway plans, in-booth video content, in-booth demo opportunities, etc.
- Evaluate past event strategies and identify opportunities for improvement and to further drive attendee engagement
- Research and understand industry trends that may affect event performance
- Integrate lead generation practices seamlessly & subtly into our event strategy

Education and Experience
- Proven experience in strategic event planning or other related field required
- Proven experience directing and planning for large- and small-scale events, preferably in-person and virtual
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
- Strategic thinker with a proven track record of executing plans
