Here at Scorpion, we love finding new ways to bring smiles to people’s faces—especially people who are in need. We recently had the opportunity to brighten the day of the women at Deborah’s Place in Chicago. This nonprofit organization provides safe housing and support services for women who are recovering from homelessness and other challenges. Two members of our team delivered 800 chocolate chip cookies to the center for the women to enjoy.
“I'm amazed and humbled by the residents I met at Deborah's Place,” said Polina Kopman, a marketing account manager at Scorpion (shown in photo). “They welcomed me into their home and showed sincere gratitude for the contribution. Seeing firsthand the compassionate care this organization provides to these women is truly remarkable.”
Elisa Aguilar, Scorpion’s Director of Business Operations for Healthcare, said she was also overwhelmed by the gratitude from the organization—particularly the staff.
“They really helped us understand how much they value the contributions made to their organization, and that everything received goes toward helping the women they serve feel valued and supported,” Elisa said. “I’m glad that we were able to make a donation to such a worthy organization.”
Deborah’s Place serves more than 300 women a year. In addition to housing, Deborah’s Place offer support services such as employment assistance, health services, educational support, assistance with benefits, and case management.
This amazing organization does so much for these women day in and day out. We are thrilled that we had the opportunity to contribute, even something as simple as a sweet pick-me-up. The donation was made through Scorpion’s charitable giving division, Scorpion Cares.
