Every single month, one of the employees recognized as a Scorpion Employee of the Month (EOM) is chosen to give a donation to their charity of choice. In the month of May, the EOM chosen was Michael Edwards who is one of the Senior Front-End Developers at Scorpion. He gave his donation to the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), which is an organization that seeks to both honor and empower wounded warriors.
“My family has a history of military service and a great respect for our country’s military,” said Michael after being chosen to select a charity. “We love our country, and we never forget that our freedom and ease of life is the result of the great sacrifices of our servicemen and women. Giving to a charity to help these brave men and women is nothing compared to their sacrifice, but I pray that it will help the Wounded Warriors Project help more soldiers and their families.”
The Wounded Warrior Project began from the vision of several veterans and friends who were moved by the stories of service members who were returning home from overseas. It began initially as a way to provide comfort items for those wounded men and women; however, it has since grown into a complete rehabilitative effort to help those soldiers transition back into the rhythm of a civilian life. As of June 2015, there are currently 70,000+ WWP alumni and 11,000+ family members helped.
