November EOMs Helps Local Family Through Adopt-A-Classroom

Earlier in 2012, a local woman went into surgery to repair a cervical disc suffered from an old injury. Unfortunately, she came out of surgery paralyzed. She is left handed and has lost all fine motor skills in her dominant hand and all function in her left leg. She remains hospitalized until the end of January, 2013 and will go home fully dependent. In true Scorpion Cares spirit, both employees honored as Employees of the Month (EOM) in November have chosen to give their donation to the cause.

The sum total of honoree's donations was sent to the school of one of the family's daughters. The donation was made through on behalf of the family and will be applied to the daughter's tuition. This will help to ease the financial burden placed on the family who now face an uncertain and unimaginable future after the catastrophic incident and injuries sustained by the mother and wife. was started by James Rosenberg who was seeking to help bolster the amount of resources found in classrooms after seeing the lack of them while mentoring a child. Since 1998, he has devoted his career to this mission after leaving his full-time job as a mergers and acquisitions attorney. The process is simple—a donor selects a classroom and makes a donation which is given 100% to the classroom. The teacher is able to use the contribution to shop online for needed resources and the donor is then sent an "Impact Report" which gives a detailed breakdown of what every dollar was used for.
