Great news! Google no longer requires background checks while setting up a Local Services Ads (LSA) profile for ALL lawyers and real estate agents in certain states.
Alabama, Arizona, California. Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas. Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska. Nevada, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming
LSAs are a major resource to help you gain new customers, reach customers at the right stage of their journey, and pay only for the advertising that earns you leads. However, getting your profile set up can be a lengthy, time-consuming process.
The background check process is the most rigorous of the onboarding requirements, previously taking anywhere from three to nine weeks to fully process. Now that the requirements are lifted for all legal providers and real estate agents in these states, lawyers and real estate agents should jump on this opportunity. Now, there’s no more waiting months to get set up. With Scorpion, you could even go live as soon as the same day your profile is set up.
"This LSA update is a massive gamechanger for our legal clients. In the past, background checks would take weeks or even months to clear and that's especially true for law firms with multiple offices or practice areas,” says Michael Eiden, Director of Internet Marketing at Scorpion. “With this new setup, it allows us the opportunity to hit the ground running immediately and start generating leads for our clients."
Real estate agents in the following states still need to go through background check process:
Alaska, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Vermont, District of Columbia, North Carolina, New Hampshire
